Decentralized AI Agents + Web3

Hey everyone,

I’d like to start a discussion on how decentralized AI agents could integrate with Web3 systems and reshape the architecture of future dApps. While interest in autonomous agents has grown rapidly, their role in decentralized environments is still largely unexplored. It would be good to examine how agents can operate alongside smart contracts, what responsibilities they might take on, and how their decision-making can remain transparent and aligned with user interests.

The discussion could explore architectural patterns for combining on-chain logic with off-chain computation, including questions of data availability, verifiability, and trust. It could also look at how multiple agents might coordinate with each other, how their actions should be governed, and what safeguards are needed to prevent unintended behavior. Participants might evaluate which tasks are suitable for agent delegation, such as automated liquidity management, portfolio rebalancing, DAO operations, or intelligent routing within multi-chain environments.

Another angle is the assessment of risks and limitations. Decentralized agents may introduce new security considerations, dependencies on off-chain infrastructure, or challenges in ensuring that agent outputs remain consistent with protocol rules. By discussing both the opportunities and constraints, the community can better understand the technical foundations required for integrating autonomous agents into real Web3 applications.
