Hey everyone,
I’ve been thinking about how we approach governance as the ecosystem expands, and wanted to start a discussion around delegated voting versus direct voting. With direct voting, every token holder has an equal chance to weigh in on proposals, which supports transparency and inclusivity. But as the number of proposals and technical complexity grows, how realistic is it to expect everyone to stay informed and actively participate in each decision?
Delegated voting, or liquid democracy, offers an interesting alternative. It allows users to delegate their votes to someone they trust who is more engaged or informed, while still keeping the option to vote directly at any time. This could make decision-making more efficient without completely giving up individual control. On the other hand, it might open the door to vote centralization if a few delegates end up with too much influence.
Would delegated voting be a good fit for our DAO structure, or do you think it goes against the values of decentralization? Could we implement a hybrid approach that combines the strengths of both? Curious to hear what others think about this and whether we should experiment with different models in test phases before committing to one.
