More use cases for ZKPs

Hey everyone,

Zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs) are increasingly being adopted in blockchain-based systems, but I think it would be useful to focus on practical use cases specifically tailored to Unit0’s architecture. Beyond the general promise of privacy, where could ZKPs be applied in a way that actually improves user experience or system performance? One possible area is identity and access control—ZKPs could allow users to verify eligibility or credentials without revealing sensitive personal data. This could be especially useful for reputation-based participation or voting in governance without sacrificing anonymity.

Another angle could be cross-chain communication. If Unit0 expands its interoperability features, ZKPs might help verify state or transaction information across chains in a trust-minimized way. And when it comes to compliance or regulatory interfaces, ZKPs could support optional proof-of-compliance frameworks, where users can show they meet a requirement without disclosing the underlying data. It would be great to explore whether any current components of Unit0’s infrastructure—like staking, delegation, or identity—could realistically incorporate these kinds of proofs. Curious to hear if anyone’s seen early experiments or implementations that could inspire potential pilots here.
