Hey everyone,
I’ve been thinking a lot about governance models in blockchain and wanted to hear your thoughts.
Onchain governance is super transparent since everything happens via smart contracts. Votes are recorded immutably, and execution is automatic - no middlemen, no delays. But the downside? Only those who hold tokens can participate, and sometimes, voter apathy is an issue.
Offchain governance, on the other hand, allows for more flexibility. Discussions, community input, and even soft consensus happen before anything is formally executed. The downside? It’s less transparent and can be influenced by a few key players.
So what’s the ideal model? A hybrid approach, maybe? Onchain voting for transparency, but offchain discussions to ensure thoughtful decision-making? Curious to hear what you all think!
