Hey everyone,
I’ve been thinking a lot about on-chain data access and how crucial it’s becoming for any serious Web3 project. With the Units.Network growing rapidly, I wanted to start a discussion on indexing and query tools that could help make data stored on-chain more usable for both devs and users.
Right now, accessing event logs, historical balances, or even simple state changes often requires either a custom backend or reliance on centralized services. Tools like The Graph are great but have their own limitations, especially when it comes to latency, complexity, or covering less popular chains. I’m curious how others here are handling this. Are you building custom indexers? Using something like Subsquid or Dune APIs? Or going fully trustless with local light clients?
More importantly, could there be room in the Unit Zero stack for native support for indexing tools or built-in event querying? Something like a lightweight, composable index layer would be a huge unlock for developers trying to build dashboards, notifications, or analytical tooling.
Would love to hear how others are approaching this. What trade-offs are you seeing in performance or decentralization? And are there any promising new tools we should be watching that align with Unit Zero’s modular philosophy?
