Privacy-preserving tooling

Hey everyone,

I’ve been digging into projects focused on privacy in Web3 and thought it would be good to surface some discussion here around privacy-preserving tools being built across the ecosystem. It seems like there’s growing interest in things like zero-knowledge proofs, decentralized identity, and encrypted messaging, but the projects working on these tools often don’t get as much visibility as DeFi or L2 scaling efforts.

For example, I’ve seen some zk-based identity layers gaining traction, and there are teams trying to make private voting and anonymous DAO participation more accessible. There’s also interesting work around on-chain privacy for transactions, though the regulatory pressure in that space makes things complicated. It feels like there’s a big gap between what’s technically possible and what’s actually user-friendly or trusted enough to adopt.

I’m curious what others have seen lately—are there projects in or near the Unit 0 ecosystem that are pushing privacy tech forward in a meaningful way? Are there particular use cases (private coordination, messaging, finance, etc.) that you think are especially promising or underserved?

Would love to hear what people are watching or building in this space. Links and thoughts welcome. Let’s map out who’s doing what in privacy right now.
